The recent initiative by the Project Management Department (Technical) to thoroughly explore the fire-safety requirements set by Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (“Bomba”) marks a significant professional advancement for both current and upcoming developments. By conducting an in-depth knowledge-transfer session, our team gained a much stronger grasp of key compliance areas—such as fire-appliance access roads, compartmentation, fire-rated structural elements, and active systems like sprinklers and fire alarms—all of which are vital components of Bomba’s regulatory framework. This enhanced understanding empowers our department to anticipate risk, integrate essential fire-protection measures early, align fully with statutory requirements, and thus enhance safety, project quality and regulatory success.
