25 Years of Yayasan EMKAY: Honouring a Legacy of Purpose

In conjunction with the 25th Anniversary celebration of Yayasan EMKAY, the occasion was meaningfully marked with the reintroduction of the EMKAY Gallery — a heartfelt journey into the life, values, and legacy of the late Tan Sri Datuk (Dr.) Haji Mustapha Kamal. More than just a gallery, it stands as a living collection of knowledge, memories, and life lessons, reflecting his entrepreneurial beginnings, love for family, passion for people, and the principles that shaped the EMKAY Group today.

Traditionally, the name EMKAY itself carries a deeper meaning — “E” stood for Employees, signifying that people always came first; “MK” represented Mustapha Kamal, the Founder himself; “A” symbolised Associates, encompassing contractors, consultants and customers who journeyed together with the Group; while “Y” represented You — the very people who make everything happen, because without you, a company is merely an organisation without soul.

Today, as the Group evolves, we embrace the term “team members” to better reflect the spirit of togetherness within EMKAY. In line with the introduction of the new EMKAY Gallery, EMKAY now takes on a renewed meaning — Experience, Management, Kindness, Authenticity, and Yield — a modern interpretation that beautifully complements the Group’s core values of EPIC: Enterprising, Partnership, Integrity, and Care.

The event was led by Puan Hajjah Farah Mahami Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal together with her team — Anis, Lourie, and Wan Suhana — and supported by team members from Level 20, namely Soleh, Alan, Wan Hazril, Noya, Shahril, and Ali Razman, whose collective efforts ensured the event was successfully carried out. Through carefully curated stories, visuals, and reflections, the gallery reminds us that true success is not measured solely by achievements, but by the impact we leave on people, communities, and future generations.
