The Embassy Group of India, the largest owner of office space in Bangalore, has been developing ICT Parks in that city to lease to international clients on a long-term basis. This Group was studying locations all over the world to expand to, and Malaysia was a perfect choice and viable alternative due to Cyberjaya’s ready infrastructure. MKN Embassy Development aims to replicate the Embassy Group’s success in Cyberjaya, leveraging on Embassy Group’s connection with its client base that includes big names like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Yahoo, Star TV and many more.

Set on transforming the face of Cyberjaya, Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal, through his position as Chairman of Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd (Master Developer of Cyberjaya), invited the key stakeholders of Cyberjaya to join hands to propel Cyberjaya on the track she was envisaged for. Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd, the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), Cyberview Sdn Bhd (Landowner of Cyberjaya) and the Sepang Town Council, the key stakeholders, have jointly given their commitment to this effort to reposition Cyberjaya.

Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal did not just stop there. Together with the Embassy Group of India, EMKAY formed a joint venture, MKN Embassy Development Sdn Bhd, to develop MKN Embassy TechZone, a freehold IT building project on 10.2 acres of prime Cyberjaya land in the flagship zone aimed for lease to Multinational Companies. Due to Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal’s vast experience in the property industry, the Embassy Group saw EMKAY as a strategic partner in the development of this specialized IT building.

The total GDV for Phase 1 of this project is approximately RM350 million and comprises of two blocks of IT buildings with a gross built-up area of 250,000 sq ft each. Block A is expected to be completed by January 2008 and Block B by August 2008.
