The EMKAY Group which was established in 1983 by its founder and Chairman, YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Hj Mustapha Kamal Hj Abu Bakar, is mainly divided into the following categories:-

1. Privately owned companies
2. Associate Companies

The privately owned companies are grouped under two main holding companies, namely MKN Holdings Sdn Bhd and MKN Group Sdn Bhd and they are widely known under the brand name 'EMKAY Group'. MKN Holdings Sdn Bhd is mainly involved in property investment whilst MKN Group Sdn Bhd's core business is property and resort development.
